A NEW BEGINNING

A new day. There is perhaps no better feeling in the work than the knowledge that tomorrow is a new day. An opportunity for a new beginning. That's exactly how we're feeling at IJAM right now. Not just because of our new website- although that too, is a source of joy for us- but also because we know that today is a new opportunity to continue the work that we were called to do.

IJAM was founded on a desire to see people of all national origins treated justly in our communities and country. That desire remains strong. Throughout history, religious communities, wisdom, traditions, social movements, and people from all walks of life have stood against injustice and worked so that people can live safely, be treated fairly, and build better lives for themselves.

We acknowledge that our county's immigration system is broken and unjust. As people representing a spectrum of faiths, we are untied in our affirmation of the innate value of every human being and thier right to be treated fairly and mercifully, regardless of their immigration status.

As an interfaith organization we are committed to continuing the fight for fair and just reform. We believe that together we can achieve this goal. We invite you to explore our new site, to read more about who we are and the work that we do. Finally we also invite you to join us in our new beginning.
